Bangladesh is the world's largest producer of raw jute β the golden fiber that grows tall every monsoon season and has been woven into everyday life for centuries. Our family started a factory in Dhaka not to exploit that, but to honour it.
We started small β a handful of artisans, fair wages, and a stubborn belief that things made slowly are made better. Over six years, that care went into more than 10,000 products quietly shipped to boutiques across Europe β Germany, the Netherlands, the UK, France and beyond β carrying someone else's label. The world loved what we made. It just never knew it came from us.
"When people hear 'Made in Bangladesh,' they think of cheap labour. I wanted them to think of craft, of care, of something worth keeping. That's the map I'm trying to put us on."
When you live between two worlds, you notice what each one is missing. Canada has everything β except easy access to the kind of beautifully made, genuinely sustainable goods that Bangladeshi artisans have been producing for generations.
So we built CaptivMart β a small, independent label with a direct line from our workshop in Dhaka to your door in Canada. No distributor markups. No re-labelling for someone else's brand. The same craft that European boutiques have trusted for six years, finally sold under the name of the people who actually make it.
"We may be small, but every bag we send out carries a whole country's worth of pride. If we can change how the world sees one 'Made in Bangladesh' label at a time, that's a legacy worth building."
No wholesalers, no brand markups. You buy from the people who actually make it.
Our craftspeople earn above market rate. Better pay means better craft.
Jute is biodegradable, fast-growing, and carbon-negative. No greenwashing β just the material's facts.
