Gifts for Dog Dads: Personalized Plates, Prints and Keepsakes

· CaptivMart

The best gifts for dog dads feature his own dog. Strong picks: a novelty license plate with the dog's photo and a nickname, a garage sign for his workshop, a photo keychain for his keys, a Dog on Board car window sign and a photo dog tag. Each is printed on metal and proofed before production.

What is the best gift for a dog dad?

A custom 12×6 novelty license plate (CA$34) with his dog's photo and a short nickname such as BOSS DOG, up to 10 characters, plus a second line like Est. 2021. It is the same size as a standard plate with mounting holes, so it can go on a garage wall, above the kennel, or on a front bracket where his province allows a novelty plate. It is a display plate, not a registration plate. It is a gift that says dog and garage in one piece, which suits a lot of dog dads.

What can I get a dog dad who spends time in the garage?

A personalized 8×12 garage sign (CA$39). Put his name or the dog's name on the first line, up to 20 characters, and something like Est. 2019 or Supervised by Max on the second line, up to 30 characters. Add the dog's photo if you like. The sign has pre-drilled corners and is printed on aluminum, so it holds up in a garage or workshop. Pair it with a 7×4 mini plate (CA$22) with the dog's name for his toolbox or bench.

What is a small gift for a dog dad?

A photo keychain (CA$16) with his dog's face goes everywhere his keys go. It is small enough for a card or stocking and costs little. A photo dog tag (CA$19) is the practical twin: the dog's photo and name on the front, his phone number on the back, with a split ring for the collar. Ordered together, the keychain and tag make a matching set from the same photo.

What is a fun gift for a dog dad who drives with his dog?

A 5.5×5.5 car window sign (CA$24) that reads DOG ON BOARD with his dog's photo. It attaches to the inside of a window with a suction cup, so it moves between the truck and the family car. It is a light, fun gift that makes people smile at red lights, and it pairs well with the novelty plate for a full car set.

Is there a dog print for his office or games room?

Our Night Squad prints include three dog designs: Rooftop Guardian (a caped Doberman), Guardian of the Night (a caped German Shepherd) and Power Level: Good Boy (an anime-style powered-up dog). Each is a 12×18 gloss aluminum print, made to order in Canada and ready to hang. For a print of his own dog, a 12×18 metal wall print (CA$79) turns his favourite photo into gallery-sized art with deep blacks and vivid colour.

When is a good time to give a dog dad gift?

Christmas, his birthday, Father's Day in June, or the dog's gotcha day all work. A new puppy is a great moment too, since a photo dog tag is useful from the first week. If you are ordering for Christmas, send the pre-order request by early December, and earlier for US addresses, because delivery to the USA takes 5 to 10 business days after production.

How does ordering a personalized dog dad gift work?

Upload a clear photo of the dog and fill in the text lines on the product page, then send a pre-order request. No payment is taken on the website. We reply within 48 hours with a proof, a delivery date and a secure payment link. Production starts only after you approve: 2 to 4 business days for tags and keychains, 3 to 5 for plates, signs and prints. Shipping is CA$15 to CA$50 per order within Canada and to the USA.

What text works best on a dog dad gift?

Keep it short and in his voice. The dog's name, a nickname like CHIEF or BOSS DOG, or a line such as Est. 2021 or Supervised by Max reads well on metal. Each product shows a character limit as you type: 10 for the main line of a plate or mini plate, 20 and 30 for the two lines on a garage sign, 12 for the name on a dog tag. Pick a bold font for plates and signs so the text reads from across the garage.

What photo of his dog should I use?

A sharp, well-lit photo of the dog's face, at least 1500 pixels on the long side. Daylight near a window or outside on an overcast day works better than indoor lamps. For a plate or sign, a head-and-shoulders shot looks strongest; for a 12×18 wall print, a wider shot of the dog in a favourite spot also works. Dark-coated dogs need extra light so their faces do not disappear in print.

Can I build a dog dad gift set?

Yes. A popular set is a novelty license plate for the garage wall, a photo keychain for his keys and a photo dog tag for the dog, all from the same photo. One order means one shipping charge of CA$15 to CA$50 depending on size and weight. Our bundle of a jute tote, a metal photo panel and a keepsake also saves 15% if you would rather go that route.
